Gamers IRL: Women in Gaming

GamersIRL (in real life) is an upcoming conference in Fall 2013 that deals with the treatment of women in the gaming and tech industries, representations of women in games themselves, and the conversation surrounding feminism’s place in an industry largely dominated by a male audience. This conference is being put on by myself and two colleagues in partnership with the University of Waterloo’s Games Institute and the IMMERSe network. It should be awesome, and anyone is welcome!

The (in progress) blog is finally up and running, so if any of this piques your interest, have a look at if for more details. A more complete CFP will be rolling out very soon, and in the meantime, keep visiting our site for industry news, commentaries, and reviews concerning women in gaming and tech.
